French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday traveled to Portugal after attending the NATO summit in neighboring Spain to make a speech at the U.N. Ocean Conference in Lisbon. After his speech at the plenary, Macron took a stroll along the Tagus River with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa before speaking with other officials at an informal session in a nearby aquarium. Macron urged other world leaders to better protect the planet’s oceans by adopting an international agreement modeled on the legally binding Paris Climate Accords.
